This release adds the pieces many growing teams asked for: client portals, recurring retainers, and clearer account-level billing history.

Client portals give each client one place to review invoices, payment links, receipts, and recent account activity. They are designed to feel simple for the client while keeping your team connected to the full record behind the scenes.

Key improvements:

  • Client portal pages for invoices, receipts, and payment links
  • Recurring retainer schedules with billing status
  • Clearer client account history across invoices and payments
  • Role-aware access for team members who handle billing

We also improved the invoice activity timeline, so it is easier to see when an invoice was sent, viewed, paid, or followed up.

v1.4.0 Faster payment status

This update makes invoice status easier to trust. Payment views, due dates, and follow-up history now update more quickly across the workspace.

Teams with multiple people preparing invoices should notice fewer stale states and fewer “has this been paid?” checks.

Payment follow-up is now more flexible. Teams can set reminder timing around invoice due dates and keep messages tied to the exact client, invoice, and amount.

The goal is to make reminders feel consistent without making them feel cold. Tally handles the timing and context, while your team keeps the client relationship human.

Follow-ups now appear in the client activity timeline, so everyone can see what happened before sending another note.
